Introduction



Scott Logie, Chair of DMA West sets the agenda for a greener and cleaner future.
|
The direct marketing community and the use of direct marketing in the West continues to grow. However, to sustain such growth, it is vital that businesses take a responsible approach by balancing consumer and business needs with environmental and social responsibility.
We need to continue to promote the highest quality standards in the industry and engage with both businesses and consumers alike, to rid the industry of ‘junk’ and promote trust and confidence in relevant direct marketing in all its forms.
We also need to continue with our strategy to ensure that the industry meets the needs of the environmental agenda. Our focus on sustainable marketing will continue to encourage recycling and the use of more recycled and environmentally friendly materials while also leading the industry in responsible producer initiatives.
The environment will be at the top of our agenda for the foreseeable future, as we strive to create an ongoing industry that serves employers and consumers in the West. We will also be looking at much closer working relationships with the IDM to ensure that all aspects of best practice, training and development are in place to encourage a healthy DM community for years to come.
